  • 4 cups dry pasta organic Bucatini #6
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups ground poppy seed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 5 tbsp rum
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 blood orange Thinly sliced blood oranges for garnish
  • 1 lemon Thinly sliced for garnish (optional)
  • 1 cup Fresh mint leaves

Method
 

  1. Cook the pasta in a pot of boiling water with half a teaspoon of salt added. Cook it until it's just tender, then drain and set it aside.

  2. While the pasta cooks, let's make the creamy poppy seed sauce. Combine the ground poppy seeds, heavy cream, butter, vanilla extract, sugar, and lemon zest in a small pot. Stir everything together and let it simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens slightly and becomes creamy.
