  • 4 cups dry fusilli pasta
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups ground walnuts
  • 2 tbsp butter (use vegan butter for plant based diet)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup fig syrup from a jar of fig jam (adjust to taste)
  • Zest from one orange (divided) save half for serving
  • 6-8 Jarred figs, sliced in half for serving
  • a splash of rum (optional)
  • 1 orange, sliced for serving

Instructions
 

  • Prepare ingredients.
    Pasta, figs, butter, orange and ground walnuts
  • In a small pot, combine ground walnuts, butter, vanilla extract, fig syrup, and half of the orange zest. Stir until well combined. Add a splash of rum if you're feeling adventurous.
    Toss the cooked pasta in the prepared sauce until each strand is coated in deliciousness.
  • Garnish with fig halves and remaining orange zest.
